| Youth and Family Therapist
Clinical Counsellor / Parenting Specialist to work with struggling teens, their families and Venture Academy clinical team members.
Qualified candidates will possess a Maters Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or related field of study and have a minimum five years experience working with youth and families in a clinical leadership role and/or outcome oriented counselling capacity, preferably in residential treatment settings. Extensive knowledge of adolescent development, DSM 4 and concurrent disorders required. R.C.C., R.S.W. or L.M.F.T. designation an asset.
Your Contribution Includes:
Superior written and verbal skills. Implementation of psychometric testing, assessment interpretation and report compilation. Family counselling, communication with loving and challenging parents and astute clinical professionals. Implementation of Solution Oriented Brief Therapy practices and similar modalities as well as intimate working knowledge of Collaborative Problem Solving. Elucidation of positive behavioural change. On site clinical consultation with youth clients and staff, regular telephone consultation with parents as the consumer. Rotating contribution to our internal after hours response team and ability to meet quickly emerging deadlines. Flexibility, very high professional standards, positive energy, leadership skills and ability to build rapport.
